My tips for choosing a bridal shop:

Make an appointment in advance. Many bridal shops are by appointment only. Make a few appointments in one day so that you have the best chance of finding your dress.
Bring along select friends and family. Choose friends and family that are close to you and that will give honest but respectful opinions, while ultimately supporting whatever decision you make. Keep in mind that the viewing areas usually accommodate 3-5 visitors alongside the bride.
Wear or bring along nude undergarments along with your wedding shoes, if you have them already.
It’s great to come with a vision, but try to be open minded and willing to try on other styles. Trust your personal consultant if they have a dress in mind for you.
Ask about alterations. Most bridal shops have relationships with seamstresses that will do alterations for you. Choose a seamstress that will do at least 2 fittings to make sure that your dress ‘fits like a glove’ on the day of your wedding.
